You might have noticed that I do a lot. I run Build a Better Wedding Business to help professionals in the wedding industry. I’m also the VP of Business Development for Thoseilove. I make sure there’s time every week for one-on-one coaching sessions with my clients. I speak at conferences and I write books. I try remember to take the time to enjoy life with yoga classes a few times a week, cooking healthy meals and making sure to catch up on binge-worthy tv.
I couldn’t do all this without staying extremely well-organized and leveraging my time as efficiently as possible. It’s here that I want to share some of my suggested tools with you, in the hopes that you will find them tremendously valuable and life-enhancing. Let me know!

Building Your Business
There are a lot of resources I can suggest, but one of the ones that really stands out is the Lean Startup Methodology. This article from Startups.co gives an overview of what it is and how it can help you as your begin to build your business.
You need somewhere to keep all of your thoughts straight. For that, my product of choice is Evernote. I got a killer deal on it at Christmas of last year: 18 months for the price of one year of Plus. Totally worth every penny. I know that no matter what happens to any of my electronic devices, Evernote has my back(ups). That link gives you one free month of Evernote Premium to try out.

Along with my digital backups, I use a Bullet Journal for my daily note-taking, task recording and to-do listing. It’s a great system, and it’s been tremendously helpful.
Your website needs professional photos without the huge cost! I have a couple of favorites. My favorite is Ivorymix because she offers great images at a really affordable price. She also focuses on things a female entrepreneur needs, so you’ve always got some beautiful pictures to use on your social media, branding and marketing efforts!
Bloguettes – Stock that Rocks. They have a great membership plan that makes the images super-cheap, or you can purchase them one-off for $10 each. I also suggest looking at free photo sites like Unsplash and Pixabay.
Ready to whip up some of your inspired designs? I use theHungryJpeg all the time, partly for their weekly free fonts and partly because I’m obsessed with bundles and fonts!
I try to take at least one new class a month – more if my schedule permits. I highly recommend CreativeLive for, well, creative classes. You can also find a huge variety of free classes that they offer, and they’re incredibly well-produced (and totally useful)!
I design my own sites, but there was a time when I didn’t. I highly recommend StudioPress for a fast, easy, WordPress site. I also really like TailorBrands for logo creation. It’s been 1000 x more reliable than anyone I ever found on many of the gig-based websites.
If you’re not using a link tracker, why not? Any time you put a link to your site anywhere on the internet, it should have a tracker attached to it, so that you know what works and what doesn’t. That’s how you’ll know whether or not to invest more money in an advertising campaign! Try ClickMeter, it’s been tremendously helpful this year.
Need to build a larger online presence? Don’t trust a newbie who doesn’t know the ropes. Connex Digital Marketing is where you’ll get the most bang for your buck.
Social Media Management
I have several recommendations for this, but that is going to have to be a blog post all by itself. For my clients, I use HootSuite Pro. Click here to get a free 30-day trial – I think it’s absolutely worth the cost, and they’re really helpful about training (so read the emails!).
For myself, I use Missinglettr to create year-long drip campaigns for each blog post on all of my websites. It has saved me a significant amount of time, and I highly recommend it. Click here to get their latest offer (right now it’s six months for the price of one)!
I like to say thank you to the wonderful people that I get to work with! I love to use Harry and David for three reasons: One, they’re from Oregon, where I live. Two, there’s something truly lovely about feeding someone! Three, it’s the most delicious fruit in the entire world!
For notes and other stationery needs, I alternate between a couple of things. I have my own designs printed at Mixbook, but I also enjoy a lovely set of cards from Paper Source. They’ve got such an amazing selection of papers to wrap goodies with!
Staying Fit and Healthy
Okay, here’s the part where I wish I wasn’t so honest: I totally hate leaving the house to work out. I just look like the walking dead when I first wake up, and I don’t want to be seen in public! On the days I can’t drag myself to my usual yoga studio, I do a Beachbody video, and call it good. Well, I *try* to do a Beachbody video, but I haven’t made it through a single one of them yet without wanting to die about halfway through. This is a link for a $99 per YEAR subscription that gives you access to all videos. I personally love PiYo and the P90x yoga!
I practice a particular type of eating because I’ve found through trial and error that carbs are the enemy. I follow the Keto Diet, and that means Low Carb Cooking! I recommend eMeals for inventive and delicious meals that aren’t the same thing, day after day.
If you want to build a more effective Success Mindset, I can highly recommend this very short course by Leon Edward focused on creating successful habits. It’s just $7, and it’s been tremendously helpful for thousands of people – I hope you’ll find it helpful, too.
Just For Fun
I’m over the moon for the jewelry I’ve purchased at Diamond Veneer. No kidding, you can’t tell these from the real thing. I never wanted my wedding or engagement ring to lose a stone while I’m out and about working with my hands, so I wear a simple ring for day-to-day and a monster of a ‘diamond’ for special events. Never. Ending. Compliments. Use code ‘weddingfor1000’ for 50% off any purchase!
I also have to slap my own hand occasionally, because I get obsessed with Amazon’s Deals of the Day. You never know what you’re going to find, and you will definitely say “I didn’t know this existed! I need this!” (Sorry about that!)
